1 (18.25-ounce) box German chocolate or Swiss chocolate cake mix
½ cup butter, melted and cooled
3 eggs, divided
1 cup chopped walnuts, or nuts of choice
1 (8 ounce) box cream cheese
1 teaspoon vanilla
3½ cups confectioner’s sugar
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Mix together cake mix, butter, 1 egg and nuts. Spread in an ungreased 13 x 9 inch metal pan. (mixture will be very thick).
Beat together cream cheese, remaining 2 eggs, vanilla and confectioner’s sugar until smooth. Pour cream cheese mixture over cake batter. (mixture will be thin).
Bake about 40 minutes or until cream cheese topping turns lightly golden. DO NOT overbake. Cool in pan about 15 minutes before cutting.
