There will be a panel discussion and public forum at the Seattle REI on December 12 to examine issues facing our national parks. The panel will be moderated by Seattle PI columnist Joel Connelly, and will feature:
U.S. Congressman Norm Dicks
U.S. Congressman Brian Baird (invited)
Bill Laitner, Olympic National Park Superintendent
Jim DiPeso, Republicans for Environmental Protection Policy Director
Thomas Wellock, Ph.D., Central Washington University Professor
Marie Marrs, Eagle Harbor High School Teacher
Sean Smith, NPCA Regional Director
The event takes place at the Seattle REI store, on Tuesday December 12th from 6:00pm – 8:00pm, at 222 Yale Ave N. This is one of the few chances we will have to let elected officials know about how much we value our national parks and federal lands and encourage them to provide adequate funding for the maintenance of these treasured areas.
