A new National Parks Conservation Association photo exhibit shows the grandeur and the storm damage suffered at the state’s three national parks.
The exhibit features works by photographers Lani Doely and Don Geyer, plus other photos that portray storm damage last fall.

Doely’s work depicts the lush rain forests and rushing rivers of Olympic National Park. Geyer’s photographs of mountains, glaciers and lakes capture the grandeur of Mount Rainier and North Cascades national parks.

The exhibit, “National Parks Under the Weather: How to Help,” includes photos from National Park Service staff that show the extent of damage done by floods and windstorms last November and December. Park officials estimate the cost of the damage in the three parks at $50 million, with more than half of that at Mount Rainier National Park.

The free exhibit runs today through June 6.

An artist reception will be from 6 to 8 p.m. April 5.

Gallery hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesdays through Fridays and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturdays.

The National Parks Conservation Association Parks Information Center is at 313-A First Ave. S., Seattle, in Pioneer Square across the street from The Elliott Bay Book Co. For information, call 206-903-1444.
