I spoke to USFS Denny Coughlin the other day - he is missing a book he loaned out awhile back to someone from Greenwater. The book is a black bound 3 ring binder titled "Interpretative Study of the White River Drainage" written and compiled by Nevan McCullough and published December of 1970.

The book contains much of the information on our regions tribal and initial residents and natural history. Denny had 2 copies - one of which he loaned out to interested parties of Greenwater/Crystal. He was a bit fuzzy about the last person he loaned it out to - but he thought it was a fisherman named "mike"...but he could not say for certain - other then it was around 10 years ago. This book also contained up dated information and events that occurred in the region that Denny had compiled and added to the binder.

This binder/book would be an incredible read for those of us wishing to learn more about our valley - but until it is located and returned - the USFS does not have a copy to lend out....

so think, ask around, see if we can locate this book and get it back to the USFS so we can all learn more about our regions history...
