The power went out for an awful lot of people starting Thursday, 12-14. As of 12-18 power is still not on. At our neighborhood in Seattle, the power came back on Sunday 12-17, at about 4 in the morning. In Greenwater the power and phones are off line at least in our area. Between Enumclaw and Greenwater I saw 3 places where trees had hit or were resting on power lines. The impact tipped many utility poles. While the electric company (Puget Sound Energy in Greenwater) are working to remedy the damage, the storm caused around one million people to be without power for several days (and counting), so there is a lot of damage to repair! As of this morning it is not possible to contact PSE about the outage. Their recording reports that all their phone lines are in use.
I hope that all the Greenwater locals are getting through this okay!! Folks in the area tend to be well equipped with supplies for this kind of event. If someone in the area is in need of assistance post it and we’ll see what we can do to help.
