Since we're on the subject of food, our family tries to head over to Yakima every month or so for incredible Mexican food. The restaurant is Santiago's on Yakima Avenue. From Chinook Pass take the First Avenue exit and turn left before Yakima. We're sort of addicted to the Santiago Taco (actually a giant burrito) and vegetarian chille rellenos. We always have to bring take-out across the pass for family and friends that couldn't make the trip.
Hope to squeeze one more trip in before Chinook closes, could be soon.
The owner used to work at or manage Casa Lupita's down on E. Marginal in the 70's (long gone now), then moved up to Eastlake Avenue. Unfortunately he's not willing to come back to the westside to open a restaurant, he's quite content in Yakima.
Oh, and if you're going, let me know and bring me some take out....;)
