Dave Moskowitz of the Cascade Wildlife Monitoring Project will give a presentation on winter wildlife in the Cascades on Monday.

Moskowitz has more than a decade of experience tracking wildlife and leading wilderness expeditions, and has led snow-tracking surveys in the Oregon and Washington Cascades.

The Cascade Wildlife Monitoring Project is a partnership between Wilderness Awareness School and Conservation Northwest. The project, now in its second year, is an ongoing study of wildlife in the mountains east of Snoqualmie Pass.

In one aspect of the project, volunteers conduct snow-tracking surveys, documenting the presence of wildlife in key areas along Interstate 90.

In addition, volunteers maintain motion-sensing cameras to capture photos of wildlife in the area.

The free event begins at 7 p.m. at the Seattle REI, 222 Yale Ave. N., Seattle.
