The Westside Road on the southwest side of Mount Rainier National Park is closed. The closure is necessary for staff to repair damage done by 2006 floods at Milepost 3.1, said park superintendent Dave Uberuaga.
The repair project began Monday and is expected to take three weeks, depending on weather conditions.
The closure covers all public access, including vehicles, pedestrians and bicyclists.
