If you are interested in volunteering this season at Mount Rainier National Park, plan to attend a meeting Saturday.
The Tacoma Mountaineers will have a session from 9 to 11 a.m. at the clubhouse, 2302 N. 30th St., Tacoma. Participants will learn about the different volunteer opportunities at the park from Kevin Bacher, volunteer program manager.

The park has a number of volunteer opportunities as it recovers from the flood of November 2006. Major projects including rebuilding part of the Glacier Basin Trail and the Wonderland Trail near the Carbon River. Other opportunities include trail repairs, clearing debris from campgrounds, performing Meadow Rover patrols and helping at the greenhouse.

To learn more about volunteer opportunities at the park, go to www.nps.gov/mora/supportyourpark/vip-positions.htm.

Participants at Saturday’s event are asked to bring something to share for brunch starting at 9:30 a.m.
