Here are my favorite sources of weather and snow conditions for both Crystal Mountain and Mount Rainier National Park. Phone options work well, especially if you don't have internet access.
Crystal Mountain Snow Phone: 888-754-6199. A recorded message provides updated information on snow conditions, road conditions, lifts operating, backcountry status, etc.
Mount Rainier National Park (MRNP) Weather Information: 360-569-2211. Select option 1, then option 1, then option 1 again. From Greenwater, this is a long distance call to Ashford, but it's worth it. A recorded message details the mountain weather forecast for the next few days, to include expected snow levels (elevation) and accumulations in MRNP. Since Crystal is just across the valley, these forecasts are fairly accurate for Crystal Mountain and Greenwater as well. For example, if the expected snow level for tomorrow is 3,000 feet, it will likely be raining in Crystal River Ranch (approximately 1,900'), but snowing at Crystal Mountain base (4,400').
