LONGMIRE AREA
Saturday: 8:30, 8:50, 9:10 and 9:30 p.m. The one-mile Trail of the Shadows hosts “Shadows of the Past.” The 90-minute ranger-led lantern tours are highlighted by actors along the trail who will portray people from Mount Rainier’s history. Flashlights, sturdy shoes, insect repellent and a coat are recommended for the program, which will be held regardless of weather.

Junior Ranger Program: 6:30 p.m. daily through August. Meet at the Cougar Rock Campground Amphitheater. Parents are welcome; 45 minutes.

Evening Program: 8:30 p.m., nightly (except Saturday). A slide presentation or discussion led by a park ranger. Topic varies nightly. Those not staying overnight at the campground should park at the picnic area; 45 minutes.

PARADISE AREA

Meadow Meander: 10:30 a.m. daily. Discover how life adapts to the unique conditions at Paradise. Meet at the Paradise Jackson Visitor Center flagpole; 60 minutes, 1 mile.

Junior Ranger Program: 1 p.m. daily. Meet at the Jackson Visitor Center information desk. Parents are welcome; 30 to 40 minutes.

Nisqually Vista Walk: 2 p.m. daily. Discover the geologic story of Mount Rainier. Meet at the Jackson Visitor Center flagpole; 60 minutes, 1.2 miles.

Changing Climate: 3 p.m. daily. Paradise Jackson Visitor Center auditorium. What is global climate change and how might it affect Mount Rainier? 40 minutes.

Evening Program: 9 p.m. nightly. A slide presentation or discussion led by a Park Ranger. Topic varies. Meet in the lobby of the Paradise Inn; 45 minutes.
